Over a long-term, IMA’s focus has been to become an independent centre targeting the development and application of microcomputer electronics.
IMA was founded in 1992 as the successor to Tesla PROMES (State Institute for Research in Electronics). In addition to research and provision of development services in the field of SW and HW, IMA is active in the segment of identification systems and is one of the leading companies in the Czech Republic in its field.
In 2017, IMA started working with the German company WITTE Automotive on innovative control unit and sensor systems, for example for gesture recognition.
At the beginning of 2021, WITTE Automotive took over IMA, making it a full member of the WITTE Automotive consortium.
IMA products are used by many companies, but also by authorities and schools for access control, access control and data logging.
Its technology has been installed at well-known companies such as Skoda, Siemens and Foxconn.
The company’s headquarters in Prague employs a total of 80 people with a focus on electrical development; the production of prototypes and serial parts is located in Pardubice, East Bohemia.
