The final evaluation of the TRANSFORM project took place on 11 and 12 December 2024 at Bosch in Renningen and Schwieberdingen and marked the culmination of the joint effort.
Subsequently, a national final review meeting was held on 27 March 2025 at the IMA headquarters in Prague under the guidance of the Ministry of Education. The IMA was successful in the evaluation of the results by the Opponent Board.
The overarching objective of the TRANSFORM project was to build a complete and highly competitive European supply chain for silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor-based power electronics and to demonstrate the applicability of European SiC technology for various application areas. The TRANSFORM project addressed a wide range of technological innovations within the Trusted SiC Value Chain, and there were multiple technological objectives that the project sought to achieve. One of these was power modules and innovation in application areas for SiC technology.
R&D results were integrated into application-level demonstrators. The goal was to create five demonstrators using SiC components and modules in different application areas. One of the demonstrators was the Industrial Energy Converter with remote monitoring, which IMA participated in the development together with the BUT.
IMA’s main focus in the project was the development of components for a remote monitoring system for the charging process of an industrial machine battery charger.
The TRANSFORM consortium, which consisted of 33 partners from 7 European countries, collaborated on the SiC value chain for power electronics, including materials, devices, power modules, reliability and test and demonstration systems in the fields of electromobility, agriculture, industry and renewable energy. The collaborative effort has advanced state-of-the-art technologies in related fields, as demonstrated in a number of publications, patents and hardware.
IMA was proud to be a Golden Sponsor of the ECCA Conference 2026, held in Prague from 25–27 May 2026 and hosted by the European Campus Card Association together with Czech Technical University.
For IMA, the event was a valuable opportunity to meet partners, universities and industry professionals, and to discuss how access control, digital identity and secure storage solutions can support the changing needs of modern educational institutions.
Here are some of the most crucial insights shared by our CTO, Michal Kašpárek.
