As a part of the modernization of the Ústí nad Labem train station, IMA installed a kiosk designed to control toilet doors. The self-service kiosk is controlled via a touch screen and accepts payments with cash coins and contactless debit/credit cards or mobile phones using Google/Apple Pay.
Information screens guide the customer during the individual steps intuitively through the entire process – from door selection, number of entries and payment to the actual opening of the door.
After the payment processed is successfully finished, the kiosk prints a ticket with a QR code and after removing the ticket, the relevant door opens for 10 seconds. Thanks to the integrated QR code reader, it is possible to identify the payment and open the door repeatedly after the time limit expires.
An optional superstructure for the kiosks is also a remote service administration, which informs about the status of coins in the coin machine, printer error messages; therefore minimizing any minor faults.
Despite citizen movement restrictions during covid-19, more than 100 entries were recorded at the kiosk during the first day of its pilot operation. Almost 20% of the transactions were cashless payments.
