“Integrated Components for Complexity Control in Affordable Electrified Cars”
3Ccar is the novel ECSEL project, committed by the major European semiconductor suppliers and two major car manufacturers, the vehicle control architecture and its subsystems will be addressed, in order to achieve the next level of efficiency. Following innovative approaches, 3Ccar targets to control and reduce complexity while enhancing functionality, safety, and robustness in smart electrified vehicles. These solutions will be based on novel nanoelectronic components, and smart integrated and embedded systems for improved cost efficiency. 3Ccar will provide essential contributions to the major goals of the ECSEL JU, especially fostering innovative electronic components and systems (ECS). The impact of 3Ccar will result in strengthening the competitiveness, growth and sustainability of European companies and research organizations. 3Ccar will boost the innovation capacity of the consortium partners and further in Europe by building close relations with other successful project consortia.
IMA will enhance the BCU (Board Control Unit) capabilities towards the wireless/3G/LTE communication employable in V2X or eCALL global systems. In the supply chain No.8 IMA will work on new BCU communication interfaces to provide car operational status records to manufacturer. Board control unit will be equipped with new interfaces in order to comply with Car2Car, Car2Manufacturer, Car2Driver services which could be also used for remote vehicle monitoring. Those services would achieve traffic control enhancement, pre-crash, crash data processing and traffic system awareness. The BCU unit will be built on new less power ICs, reliable memories, light-weight HMI panel and standard communication interfaces.
