GaN for Advanced Power Applications
GaN4AP project has the ambitious target of making the GaN-based electronics to become the main power active device present in all power converter systems, with the possibility of developing a close-to-zero energy loss power electronic systems.
IMA will work on the design and development of a remotely controlled power actuator for industrial application. This demonstrator follows the demonstrator developed within WinSiC project, including SiC transistors; therefore, the key building block of this demonstrator will be a new power GaN component connected to a wireless module. This remotely controlled power device will be implemented to IMA platform and unit tests will be performed on the components of the demonstrator. IMA will be supported by UNIPRA in the design, tests and consulting in order to optimize the use of GaN chips.
