In this second reporting period, IMA’s task was to provide functional HW and SW for monitoring vital functions of livestock as well as the quality of the environment in the stable.
The newly developed gateways designed for transmission of the monitored data are located in a cowshed at the Netluky farm of the VÚŽV partner and transmit data to the IMA cloud. The dashboard can be displayed on a PC or a mobile device via the web interface. In addition to the data visualization in the form of graphs and tables; various parameters, warning messages and alerts can be set.
Monitoring of the environment is provided by LoRa Gateway, enabling wireless data collection from temperature, humidity and CO2 sensors. The LoRa Gateway also transmits data via Ethernet to IMAcloud.
Data transfer from the collar monitoring the animal’s vital functions (digestion, swallowing, movement) takes place in two steps. As soon as the cow with the sensor-equipped collar is within range of the gateway (approximately a radius of up to 6m), wireless data collection from the collars takes place via the BLE Gateway. From there, the data is then transmitted via Ethernet to IMAcloud.
The data is then transferred and stored in a common database on the AFarCloud platform, where all data sources used in the AFarCloud project are registered and available to other partners.
