Czech Partners Receive Outstanding Evaluation

On 21 October 2026, the final national project review of the European Listen2Future (L2F) project took place in Prague with the participation of the Czech partners IMA, Brno University of Technology (BUT) and the Institute of Information Theory and Automation of the Czech Academy of Sciences (UTIA). The review followed the final European-level evaluation held in July in Villach, Austria.

From 2023 to 2026, Listen2Future brought together 27 partners from seven European countries. The project focused on the development of advanced acoustic sensors and intelligent systems for healthcare, industrial and energy applications.

The Czech consortium developed a demonstrator for monitoring power distribution equipment. The solution uses ultrasonic sensors to detect, classify and locate partial discharges and transmits the collected data to the cloud. IMA led this use case and developed both the universal L2F LoRa communication module and the IMA IoT Cloud platform used for visualization and analysis of detected events.

The results achieved by the Czech partners received the highest possible rating: “V – outstanding results of international significance.” During the review, members of the evaluation board showed strong interest in the project outcomes and their practical applications. Particular appreciation was expressed for the future exploitation potential of the developed technologies and for the continued cooperation among the Czech partners.

The Listen2Future project was funded through a public-private partnership supported by the Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU), the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and the participants’ own resources.

News in IMA

We are pleased to announce that, effective 15 October 2026, Josef Purnoch has taken on the position of Head of Sales at IMA.

The professional industry portal TZB-info has published an article titled “Mobile phones under lock and key: smart lockers as a quiet helper for schools”, focusing on the upcoming changes related to mobile phone use in schools and practical ways to ensure their safe storage during the school day.

Effective October 1, 2026, Ing. Ondřej Marek has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of IMA.

We have successfully delivered and commissioned a system of 250 smart locker locks powered by imaLOCKER at the new building of ZŠ Bílá School in Prague 6.

Instead of using traditional keys, students unlock their lockers with the same identification credential they use to enter the school building. This eliminates issues related to lost keys, replacement locks, and key administration.
