About project

IMA participated in the MAS project “Nanoelectronics for Mobile Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Systems”, which is funded by the European Union, from the ENIAC-JU programme.

The aim of the MAS project is to develop a common communication platform and nanoelectronic circuits whose use in health and wellness applications will support the development of flexible, safe, resilient and affordable mobile AAL systems to enhance the quality of human life.

MAS will focus on the areas of health indicator monitoring and home therapy support and mobile health, wellness and fitness devices. The systems will be used for remote patient monitoring using multi-parameter biosensors, secure communication networks and health and wellness monitoring in the home environment.

Devices based on the MAS platform will initially be used for five demo areas:

  • Health and activity monitoring
  • Terminal and access to care
  • Cardiovascular monitor
  • Monitor for diabetic patients
  • Mobile cardiotocography
