LBAsense – a localisation system that monitors the presence and movement of people and crowds. As part of its deployment, we provide consultation on the proper approach to take legally, in keeping with the latest European norms for the protection of personal data. The number one benefit of LBAsense is the detection of mobile devices using unique identifiers. Unlike other similar systems which only count the number of people or recognize gender, LBAsense can detect whether a particular person is repeatedly present, along with visit frequency and time spent in the monitored area. LBAsense is commonly installed in shopping malls, and provides a detailed analysis of customer behaviour. Such analyses allow malls to optimize operations, measure the success of marketing campaigns, and determine which times of day require more sales assistants. In smart cities, LBAsense is used to evaluate the frequency of mass transport with an eye to more efficient management of the urban infrastructure. In large areas and in industrial complexes, it is used as a security add-on to identification systems.
Personal Data Protection:
For precise targeting of persons, mobile devices using WiFi technology, GSM (2G) and UMTS (3G) are detected. Each mobile device bears a unique identifier that is processed by the system in anonymous form to ensure compliance with data protection regulations. Thus it is impossible to monitor a single person without their express permission.
Localisation of Persons:
LBAsense can pinpoint the location of people to within a range of a few dozen meters up to 3 km. The system can be integrated with an identification or security system that will heighten security by increasing the ability to detect any unauthorized entry.
