The PCE.05 module is used for the direct incorporation of cards in the system, i.e. as a substitute for manual card entry (attendance, cash-register desk, canteen, etc.). It can also be used for other purposes when card reading is necessary.
PCE.05 serves as contact-less card reader, directly connected to the KEYBOARD output of the personal computer. Subject to customers requirements the PCE.05 can also be equipped with MOTOROLA INDALA, EM MARIN, LEGIC or HID card readers. Two connecting cables leading from the electronic module end with the PS/2 socket and PS/2 plug. The electronics are connected between the keyboard and PC. That means the cable plug is to be connected to the KEYBOARD output of the PC and the keyboard connector cable to the cable socket.
With the help of converter it can also be connected to USB in the range or version of PCE.05/USB.
All keyboard functions are maintained. When a card is applied, its data content is sent from the keyboard to the computer.
Note: The performed procedure is the same as the direct entry of the given number (card content) on the computer keyboard.
Design styling
The contact-less chip card reader and an electronic module are placed inside the cream color plastic case with the dimensions of approximately 5 x 15 x 20 cm. Two LED indicators (LED5) green and red, which are used to indicate the card reading operation, are placed on the top case cover. The illuminated green LED indicator signals the correct card reading, while the red indicator signals incorrect card reading. PCE.05 is supplied by an NZ 12/6/500 adapter, supplied together with PCE.05.
